Local officials against swine flu ?

Joliet-area officials struggle to warn area residents about the health scare without stirring widespread panic due to political correctness.

Joliet Illinois schools in Will County school districts  spent Monday not notifying parents about the potential risks in the area that has Mexican illegals with strong links to the country where the virus originated, Jumping the border is the cause for Illinois infections, the virus has infected at least 48 people in five U.S. states, none of them fatally as of yet.

A major concern  has resonated but lack of officials concern has cause me to worry, why not advised parents to monitor their children’s health, With 45 percent of the Joliet Illinois school’s having 25,000 students either Mexican illegals or Mexican born Americans, teachers  should be asking parents if their families have traveled to Mexico recently.

local officials have down played the severity trying not to cause fear,  Despite the fact that several reports have indicated that U.S. swine flu patients had recently traveled to Mexico,

local officials and school leaders have chosen to ignore that, we’re doing nothing to stop them from coming across the border.

Let them hold a Cinco de Mayo parade in Joliet and all around Illinois communities, we have no right to good health as it seems to me and it would be par for the course .  It seems again they have  put party politics ahead of the welfare of the very people they are paid so generously to represent, If we have a swine flu pandemic in America, the Politicians are entitled to a great deal of the blame.. Cheap labor and Germ warfare great way to get rid of us unemployed American voters that Elected these pieces of crap.

lately 23 states are now experiencing cases of Chagas a South American disease causing heart failure, intestinal problems and ultimately death but that’s OK right?…. lets do nothing, lets be politically correct and sensitive to people that have no caring for our well being.

Confirmed cases of swine flu grows to 23 in Kane County

By ERIC SCHELKOPF – eschelkopf@kcchronicle.com

The number of confirmed cases of swine flu in Kane County has grown to 23.

Four more cases of the swine flu have been confirmed, Kane County Health Department officials announced Thursday.

But the new cases reflect the ongoing resolution of a backlog of laboratory tests from residents who became ill last week and do not represent new infections.

Kane County transferred one case Wednesday when it was discovered that the patient was resident of Will County, not Kane County.

Batavia High School, Rotolo Middle School in Batavia, Haines Middle School in St. Charles, Marmion Academy in Aurora and Larkin High School in Elgin have all reopened following swine flu cases at the schools.

But swine flu could still be present at a school even without a confirmed case.

“It could be circulating without a confirmation,” health department spokesman Tom Schlueter said.
The health department has relaxed its school closure recommendations regarding swine flu. The change in policy was recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Rather than continuing to close individual schools based on the diagnosis of cases of swine flu in students or staff, the Kane County Health Department has implemented a countywide policy that focuses on keeping all students with symptoms of influenza out of school while they are sick and recuperating, when they are potentially infectious to others.

The change in policy was recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The department now recommends that if children are sick, they should stay home for at least seven days from the onset of symptoms.

“This increase in numbers in Kane County and across the state shows that the virus is widespread in our community,” Kane County Health Department Executive Director Paul Kuehnert said. “We need to consider this outbreak as a second flu season, and take appropriate, common sense precautions to protect ourselves and our families – the same precautions we should take every flu season.”

What is swine flu?

•Swine Influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza viruses that causes regular outbreaks in pigs. People do not normally get swine flu, but human infections can and do happen.

Is this swine flu contagious?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has determined that this swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is contagious and is spreading from human to human. However, at this time, it is not known how easily the virus spreads between people.

If a parent has to be advised to monitor their children’s health then they shouldn’t be parents in the first place. I don’t see why the obvious needs to be stated by a governmental entity.

I guess you have trouble reading sam, the statement and the name of this blog is self explanatory, Joliet is in Will county and we live here….. The pandering to Illegals is what has caused the onset of the disease getting into this country and the uncaring governmental officials at the border……be PC if you must, but not at the cost to my health or my kids health.
