Will county schools dump mega bucks

From Joliet teacher at Large: Email received

I see this on a daily bases Local schools scrambling to prepare their students for exams districts say put non-native speakers at a disadvantage.

“Now that’s bull they put American children at more of a disadvantage.”

Will county schools dump mega bucks into teaching Illegals to read, while discounting American born childrens needs, do you believe this to be true?

(comment based on story in Herald -spew- News)

JolietJakes2008 Comments:

Dear teacher at Large,

Illegal aliens typically earn so much less than natives, their economic contribution is much less than their numbers would suggest- and immigration enthusiasts incessantly claim.

At $8,745 per pupil (the average annual cost of K-12 public education in the U.S.) the cost of educating Illegals and their children comes to $29 billion ($8,745 times 3.3 million children) and the numbers are rising daily.

Illegal aliens are imposing an additional cost per American child (i.e. child of American-born parents) in the public school system.

It’s not just smoking its the law.

After the clock strikes midnight Dec. 31 and party-goers through out Will county start the new year, police expect business owners hosting celebrations to remove ashtrays and make an announcement asking customers to stop smoking.

The state’s no smoking law, which goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. Jan. 1.

“The law goes into effect at midnight, that’s what the legislators intended,” Here’s the real reason that the local cities are passing their own non-smoking ordinances, and it isn’t about saving the poor old States Attorney from having to prosecute violators; It’s because when you are given a ticket in Illinois from a local police officer for a city ordinance violation, the city gets to keep all of the fine money. If the ticket is written on a state law violation, then the county the offense took place in gets to keep the money. It’s all about the money people. It’s also another way for government to dictate how you will live your life. Get used to it, because it’s going to happen more and more.

Do we really need a law to ban smoking in bars? If a bar owner wants to allow his customers to smoke, where does the government get off banning it? There are certain expectations of certain establishments. Smokers have been gathering at taverns for longer than any of us have been alive. Employees take the job knowing what the environment is. Do they really need protected? I think I’ve read that the most dangerous job is Lobster fishing. Is that right? You don’t see the government banning people from eating lobster because the job is hazardous.

Really the argument here shouldn’t be about smoking’s evil, but rather the fact that the government is getting a little too restrictive when it comes to a private business. IF a tavern owner wants to allow smoking and everyone suddenly regains their intelligence and decides not to smoke then he’ll lose business because no one will go there. If a person doesn’t want to patronize an establishment because of the smoke, then don’t go. I smoke, but I don’t like to be around it when I go out to dinner so I always ask to be seated in the no smoking section. “Sum buddies had two tell me that tho becus ahm of lowe intelegence”

With everything that is going on in this country this is what we feel deserves our legislatures attention? Non-smokers have the option of patronizing any establishment they want. There are multitudes of non-smoking areas, establishments to choose from yet they cried and cried until they made it that way for everybody. Now, maybe it should be our turn. I propose banning fast food, it’s bad for you. Ban children from ALL restaurants, they bother me while I’m eating. Ban anyone who can’t park between the lines, they ruin the experience for everybody. Ban all talking in restaurants and bars, I don’t need to be subjected to YOUR rhetoric, after all it’s MY experience not yours. Ban cell phones in all public places, they’re just plain rude. Ban all drivers who can’t figure out how to use a turn signal…… Again we bend over and get screwed…..

Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow says WHAT?

Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow would stand behind his detectives in the Kevin Fox case, what else would he do? Does anyone really think he would say the detectives were wrong..

The same detectives in the Kevin Fox case has done this to many other people and are still going to keep on doing the same.

From the non-custodial interviews to the down right beating of inmates that are in custody and the denial of a persons right to an attorney. With this type of law enforcement somebody will be put in prison  so these lazy detectives can make rank on peoples backs.

Good for you Kevin Fox on your settlement…..

Looking for answers…In Joliet

Where is the politicians going with Joliet, January 1st 2008 we are to obey the new law of “No” smoking in public places.

Now isn’t this something else to make businesses abandon Joliet again. When leaving the Windy City for Joliet, Illinois, You see that Joliet has deteriorated under the current and previous politicians of Joliet Illinois.

Joliet has turned into a dying hole on the map, lately Joliet has added old time gas pumps on street corners to add ambiance of Rt 66 to the non-laughable joke of Joliet being brought back to what it once was in the past.

The commercial areas around the train station have become stagnant as well as most businesses have also, most businesses in Joliet that were family owned are now gone to the winds.  What have we become the new generation trash man tax payers at work, “The goal should be to find a way to retrain and sustain Joliet and Will County’s work force,” I say “aggressive training initiative to retrain the work force should be a demand made by Joliet residents.”  “In Joliet, we have two hotels and they’re not faring well at all especially in the downtown area. Our motels are inadequate, our restaurants are dying, our taverns, our parking lots, the food vendors, and the real estate values have fallen, all of these things are not in good financial health, yet Joliet is trying to look toward a great influx of money, of people, through a very limited medium of riverboat gambling and future homes that may or may-not be built. Riverboat gambling has not met the criteria set forth by Illinois legislators when they sold this idea to the citizens of Joliet Illinois. “It’s illogical to expect casino customers to leave the premises and spend money in nearby stores, restaurants, or bars.” And this hurts local economy and hurts property owners. The economic development we have seen was marginal at best; it has not spurred economic development. It has not created jobs. It has not boosted tourism, and it certainly has not brought new life to Joliet or Will County.

Bring in a gambling venture, and it sucks the dollars out of other areas of discretionary spending just like the employing of illegals in American businesses do also. But what do I know, I guess my eyes lie to me and my hearing must be defective too when it comes to listening to the bullshit the local politicians are spouting daily, we hear the words of encouragement yet we see nothing coming as proof, Joliet is now viewed as a modern-day Slum and the local politicians are its slumlords trying to put a band-aid on the real problems.   No one seems to be thinking about good paying jobs or what we can do to attract businesses to the area; I have been to council meetings and been to web sites like www.willcountyced.com  and  Joliet – Incentives and Grants  “Joliet and Will county government leaders are failing because of technology, market share and City and County reach, increasingly complex moving exponentially faster each day.” The dinosaurs we have in office now are falling behind while other areas are growing and leaving us behind. When you have political leaders that can’t even answer there own email how can the same political leaders bring prosperity to Joliet and Will County?

Stacy peterson and a thought about it.

The STACY PETERSON SEARCH
was a waste of time,  (Drew Peterson) sent the police off in a wild goose chase in the Chicago Ship and Sanitary Canal Wednesday.

This shows how stupid the Will county police infact are, Drew pulled a houdini and with a slight of hand  sent the three stooges (known as the Will county police)  looking in the wrong direction, it would not surprise me to find out that Hase and Guilfoild which were involved with the Kevin fox case is involved in the Stacy Peterson case also.

I guess if there is going to be a guessing game on where stacy is to be found then maybe we should guess at it also.
