Freedom or Socialism? Will County Self Governance or Cook County Corruption!

Tomorrow we go to the voting booth to decide among a number of things who will lead our country and how our system of government will change. I grew up in a predominantly Democrat neighborhood. As a matter of fact it was 1.5 blocks south and 2 blocks east of Richard Daley’s home in Bridgeport. The neighborhood I grew up in had a fairly small town feel to it. Many of the people there had lived for generations in the same apartment, everyone knew everyone else, we were more or less poor people, not having the education, or money to gain one that would enable us to actually buy the homes we lived in. My Grandfather Phillip Peter Cleary died in the same apartment he was born in on 34th and Wallace Street. He was a veteran of World War 2, learned to drive a truck in the Civilian Conservation Corps, worked for Lincoln Meat Packing as a driver and he was a good Democrat. My Grandfather believed in America, he fought for those beliefs’ in North Africa, Sicily and at Anzio Beach. He was a part of the “Greatest Generation”! He came back to the neighborhood he grew up in and was involved in the American Legion and on a small scale politics. He was a Democrat ward worker helping to get out the vote and always helping the party he believed worked for freedom and the American Value System. He worked to get out the vote for Richard J. Daley in his first run for Mayor in 1955.

At this point you are probably asking why I am boring you with this. I believe if my grandfather were alive today he would be disgusted by what has become of his party! It has become a repository for the Socialists and Communists of America.  An organization of intolerance to freedom, if you don’t tow the line you are ostracized and denounced, like Joe Lieberman or Zell Miller. It has become a party that is financially influenced by foreign individuals and organizations like George Soros and MoveOn.org, the Open Society Institute and the Council on Foreign Relations, who do not have the best interests of the American People at heart.

Tomorrow we will decide if we want The United States of America to take a substantial swing to the Left and adopt the failed policies of Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Mao Zedong or if we will remain the standard for Freedom in the world.

Another thing we will decide and this will have the most immediate effect on our lives. Do we want to continue the erosion of our influence in what happens in Will County or will we vote for a change in the practices that are dragging our County down. The likes of Larry Walsh, Pam McGuire, Pat O’Neil and James Glasgow are like a stain on the underwear of Will County. It is time we wash our undergarments and feel clean again.  Mr. Walsh has taken substantial amounts of money from people who do business with the county, people he has contracted. He has taken money from those that want little or no supervision to destroy the streets and highways of our County. He is an unrepentant alcoholic who has flaunted and broke the laws of our state and in the process put every citizen of this state in jeopardy by operating a vehicle while intoxicated. mR. Walsh and his buddies are chomping at the bit for Cook County style politics. Pam McGuire has not been able to lead a staff without the corruption of pay offs on tickets and sexual harassment in her office. Mr. O’Neil had to dig up a body to enable him to correctly identify (on the second try) that a murder had occurred. Mr. Glasgow has employed ADA’s that warn family members of pending charges of rape! For some reason we think that this is good Governance. Once again My Grand Father would be disgusted, I’m glad he isn’t here to witness it!

Looking for answers…In Joliet

Where is the politicians going with Joliet, January 1st 2008 we are to obey the new law of “No” smoking in public places.

Now isn’t this something else to make businesses abandon Joliet again. When leaving the Windy City for Joliet, Illinois, You see that Joliet has deteriorated under the current and previous politicians of Joliet Illinois.

Joliet has turned into a dying hole on the map, lately Joliet has added old time gas pumps on street corners to add ambiance of Rt 66 to the non-laughable joke of Joliet being brought back to what it once was in the past.

The commercial areas around the train station have become stagnant as well as most businesses have also, most businesses in Joliet that were family owned are now gone to the winds.  What have we become the new generation trash man tax payers at work, “The goal should be to find a way to retrain and sustain Joliet and Will County’s work force,” I say “aggressive training initiative to retrain the work force should be a demand made by Joliet residents.”  “In Joliet, we have two hotels and they’re not faring well at all especially in the downtown area. Our motels are inadequate, our restaurants are dying, our taverns, our parking lots, the food vendors, and the real estate values have fallen, all of these things are not in good financial health, yet Joliet is trying to look toward a great influx of money, of people, through a very limited medium of riverboat gambling and future homes that may or may-not be built. Riverboat gambling has not met the criteria set forth by Illinois legislators when they sold this idea to the citizens of Joliet Illinois. “It’s illogical to expect casino customers to leave the premises and spend money in nearby stores, restaurants, or bars.” And this hurts local economy and hurts property owners. The economic development we have seen was marginal at best; it has not spurred economic development. It has not created jobs. It has not boosted tourism, and it certainly has not brought new life to Joliet or Will County.

Bring in a gambling venture, and it sucks the dollars out of other areas of discretionary spending just like the employing of illegals in American businesses do also. But what do I know, I guess my eyes lie to me and my hearing must be defective too when it comes to listening to the bullshit the local politicians are spouting daily, we hear the words of encouragement yet we see nothing coming as proof, Joliet is now viewed as a modern-day Slum and the local politicians are its slumlords trying to put a band-aid on the real problems.   No one seems to be thinking about good paying jobs or what we can do to attract businesses to the area; I have been to council meetings and been to web sites like www.willcountyced.com  and  Joliet – Incentives and Grants  “Joliet and Will county government leaders are failing because of technology, market share and City and County reach, increasingly complex moving exponentially faster each day.” The dinosaurs we have in office now are falling behind while other areas are growing and leaving us behind. When you have political leaders that can’t even answer there own email how can the same political leaders bring prosperity to Joliet and Will County?

Will County police and States attorney’s office make boo-boo.

inside source states attorney office: transcripts of 6:45 March 07/08/03 Will county Police

A call came in to the Will County Sheriff’s Office at 6:45 pm the anonymous caller spoke with the on duty officer.
Officer: “Yes. What can I  do for you?”
an anonymous caller “I’m calling to report  my neighbor  Virgil Sith…. He’s hiding Marijuana inside his firewood! the caller stated, I Do not  know how he puts it inside the logs, but he’s hiding it there and they are in the shed in back of his home.”

The on duty officer reported what he had been told by the caller to his superiors, So today march 9th 2007, the Sheriff’s Deputies and the States attorney descend on Virgil’s home in the 1400 block of Jefferson St in Joliet Illinois. They search the shed out back of Virgil’s home where the firewood was kept, using axes, they busted open every piece of wood in Virgil’s shed, but did not find marijuana. After 3 1/2 hours grilling the suspect Virgil Sith, Not finding no probable cause for arrest, they sneer at Virgil and leave.
Shortly after the Police and the States attorney left, the phone rings at Virgil’s home. The states attorney and one Will county officer was now enforcing a wire tap on Virgil’s home 3 blocks away; the Unknown caller said:

“Unknown caller (whispering)…. Did the Sheriff  show up.

Virgil: Yea and they brought the States attorney too?”

Unknown caller: “What did they do”?

Virgil: They came with a warrant and busted up all of my wood in my shed and I don’t know why?”

Unknown caller: “Well I told you I would help you with that job of splitting the wood!” “Happy Birthday,  buddy!”

Note this just a joke and never really happened“.

where is the change democrats

OK so What! Democrats won the Nov. 7 election by promising “change.” If that’s the case, voters have been hoodwinked again! Where is this “change that we have been hearing about” that we have been promised?

Democrats are badly divided on the Iraq war. Some Congressmen wants to “redeploy our troops to Okinawa,” the anti-war wing wants our entire troops home immediately and moderates want a slower redeployment of our troops.

No change is discernible so far.

Democrats have dragged their feet on giving our intelligence experts reasonable leeway in monitoring communications between foreign and U.S. terrorist suspects. They are still dragging their feet, so where’s the change? The immigration issue will not receive further attention, but this was an issue to help get the party in power.

Fixing Social Security and Medicare are two huge problems which President Bush has urged Congress to fix but the Democrats say “No way!”

Democrats say they support greater cooperation between the parties but there is very little evidence of such a change.

The best Democrats can come up with for change is increasing taxes which would hurt the economy further. Fortunately, Bush can veto any tax increase legislation but will he. Democrats hold a very slim margin of power, 51 percent in the Senate and 53.5 percent in the House.

Controversial issues in the Senate require 60 votes for passage, which means “deadlock” this will be the name of the game for the next two years.

Our economy is not in the best shape as it was in past years, unemployment at 5.4 percent, take home pay has increased a dollar but what good does it do when you can’t even save any money, gasoline at about $2.45 per gallon, Taxes up, and Let’s hope the Democrats don’t screw it up further.
